In many cities, the idea of getting a hotel near a major train station isn’t an appealing one. But sometimes, whether it’s because those are the only hotels with vacancy during a particularly busy time or you just need to be close to a station for an early morning departure, staying near a train station is what you have to do. In Paris, there are several train stations scattered throughout the city; one that many people end up staying close to is the Gare du Nord.

The Gare du Nord is the Paris end of the Eurostar train that connects the French capital with London. Although the neighborhood around the Gare du Nord isn’t exactly Paris’ loveliest, there are quite a few hotels nearby from which to choose if you need to stay nearby.

Budget Hotels in Paris near Gare du Nord Train Station

Hotel Whistler

The Hotel Whistler is located just across from the Gare du Nord station. It’s a 4-star hotel with 34 rooms; most of which are small, but all of which have private bathrooms, air conditioning, and free WiFi. A continental breakfast is served every morning and is included with the price of the room.

25hours Hotel Paris Terminus Nord

The 25hours Hotel Paris Terminus Nord is across the street from the Gare du Nord station. Also, it is 550 meters from the Gare de l’Est station, too. It’s a 4-star hotel with 35 rooms – the rooms are sparsely decorated and small, but they have private bathrooms. And the rooms are definitely on the nicer side, so you can’t complain too much about the above-average price. WiFi is free and breakfast is available at extra cost.

Hotel Maubeuge Gare du Nord

The Hotel Maubeuge Gare du Nord is, as the name suggests, a stone’s throw from the Gare du Nord station. It’s a 2-star hotel with 30 rooms; they’re definitely on the small side, but for a short stay, that may not be an issue. Amenities are limited, but each room has a private bathroom, and there is an internet access point in the lobby. The hotel has an on-site bar, and continental breakfast is served in the bar/dining room each morning.

New Hotel de Paris Nord

The Hotel de Paris Nord is just down the street from the Gare du Nord station, and not far from the nearby Gare de l’Est station, too. The Exe Panorama, part of the Eurostars hotel chain, is one that’s not right next door to Gare du Nord – but it’s a relatively short walk away.
